MSU field hockey senior midfielders Floor Rijpma and Jeamie Deacon were named All-Americans this week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Rijpma, the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, was named to the First Team All-America and led MSU with 52 points on 24 goals and four assists. She also recently was named the NFHCA West Region Player of the Year and capped a successful career at MSU by helping her team win the Big Ten regular season and conference tournament championships.
Rijpma, who ranks third in the program’s all-time record books for points and goals, was named a first team All-American last season as well.
Deacon was named a Second Team All-American following an 11-goal season that was shortened because of injury. This marks the third straight season in which she was named an All-American.
Deacon had her share of big goals this season, including scoring two against Indiana in the Big Ten tournament championship game.
MSU finished this year No. 6 in the country and won the outright Big Ten regular season championship for the first time in program history.
