Local food bank accepting food, items

November 16, 2009

MSU is accepting donations of nonperishable food and personal care items this week for a drive to benefit both the Greater Lansing Food Bank and MSU Student Food Bank.

The university’s Division of Residential and Hospitality Services is co-sponsoring the third annual Help Tackle Hunger Food Drive with MSU’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Donations will be accepted through Saturday and can be made at numerous campus locations, including the Union, Kellogg Center and all residence halls.

All donations collected through Friday will benefit the MSU Student Food Bank, and donations collected Saturday will benefit the Greater Lansing Food Bank. About 3,500 pounds of food and other items were donated last year.
