Student leaves laptop, it gets stolen

A 20-year-old student reported her laptop stolen Saturday from the Main Library, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student told police she was studying at a table on the second floor when she left her belongings at about 4:45 p.m. to go to the restroom, McGlothian-Taylor said. She returned five minutes later to find the $800 laptop missing, along with her $60 music player.

There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

Wow, the title says everything you need to know. Those two phrases go hand in hand.

Why would you entrust your computer to someone who can’t spell “secure” in a URL?

So this is pretty much every other police brief. And I know it is the students fault for leaving their belongings unattended. But, this is ridiculous. Wouldn’t you think the University would set up like a sting or something in the library.

when will people learn

There are signs ALL over the library. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS UNATTENDED. If you have to go to the bathroom, make sure a friend is watching your stuff. If you are at the library by yourself, pack up your things and take them with you.

Although not a efficient use of resources, it would be cool to have stings set up at the libraries.
