Student falls from third-story roof

A 21-year-old MSU student broke his leg and arm after falling from the roof of a three-story apartment building early Saturday night.

East Lansing police Lt. Kevin Daley said the student broke his femur and arm after slipping off the roof of his apartment on the 200 block of Bogue Street. He said the student was on the roof attempting to climb back into his third-story porch.

Daley said the student had been drinking. The student was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, and immediately had surgery, East Lansing Fire Marshal Bob Pratt said.

The student was in serious condition following the fall, but is doing well after being treated, Daley said.

Climbing on the roof to get into a third story apartment after drinking? This guy’s lucky all he broke was his arm and leg. If this isn’t an advertisement for responsible drinking, I don’t know what is.
