ELPD searching for armed robbery suspect

By Kate Jacobson (Last updated: 12/20/09 4:57pm)

Police are looking for a man who robbed an East Lansing convenience store Friday evening with a knife.

East Lansing police Lt. Kevin Daley said a man robbed Buddy’s Mini Market, 504 Michigan Ave., at 6:49 p.m. and held the store clerk at knifepoint. Nobody was injured in the robbery. Daley declined to specify how much money was stolen.

The man is described as in his mid-20s, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt and a winter hat.

East Lansing K-9 units were able to track the man, who fled on foot, for two blocks north of the store. However, the scent was lost. Daley said police believe the suspect got into a car and drove away.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call East Lansing police at (517) 351-4220.

MSU has really been going downhill lately. All of the issues with the football team and just random student incidents seem to have tarnished the school’s reputation.

To Reader: This mentions NOTHING about MSU and the only association you could make is that it happened in East Lansing. Also, it DEFINITELY didn’t say anything that would show that it was a student. Your argument is analogous to the reputation of NYU going down when there is a murder in the NYC- I haven’t seen that happen.

Try a little harder next time. Things like this happen in towns or cities, regardless of size or other factors. So don’t try and discredit an institution because of what happens in the vicinity of the campus.

Seriously, a freaking knife? What happened to convenience stores keeping a loaded .38 under the counter next to the register? The proper outcome of this police report should read “The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Too bad the robber wasn’t an under age drinker or had a doob in his pocket or better yet had just set a dumpster on fire. Then the ELPD would have caught him before he cleared the parking lot.

No kidding a little half man with a knife would just get his butt kicked if I was the clerk.

That gas station sucks. You cant even use credit cards there. This has noting to do with MSU and I too want a better description. Why wouldn’t you say race when describing someone, I’d think that would be the first thing after male or female. Right?

Why

Why why why WHY is this considered newsworthy for your average MSU student!?!?!?
