The city of East Lansing will offer free metered parking and free parking in surface lots and ramps for holiday shoppers from Dec. 19-27.
The free parking is an incentive to get people downtown for holiday shopping to make the area more accessible for customers.
Shoppers also are encouraged to stop by local eateries to take a break from the stresses of the holidays.
