Talented players dot squad
Tweet
For all the ups and downs the program had this decade, there were plenty of talented players. Although Jeff Smoker has all the school’s passing records, Stanton was a better player with less talent around him. Rogers was named the nation’s top receiver in 2002 and may be the best ever in a program with plenty of talent at that position. Greg Jones still has one more year to play and may end his career as the program’s all-time tackles leader.

Good list but I would’ve put Peko over Clifford Dukes and Haygood over Thomas at WR, because Devin really only had one year at reciever here, granted it was excellent.

Too bad we couldn’t have all these guys on one roster with a coach who knew what was going on. my link

Wow.
1. Sean Poole only started for one year, as a 5th year senior. You really put him up there as our best OT of the decade?
2. Roland Martin never played tackle at MSU.
3. Clifford Dukes wasn’t better than EITHER Brandon Long or Ervin Baldwin or even Greg Taplin’s 2003 season.
4. David Herron was a better linebacker than both Stanley and Thornhill.
5. Broderick Nelson was terrible. I mean, TERRIBLE. Please, choose another name.

Waste of Taxpayer Dollars
We are 16th for spending on football, and yet we rarely ever come up ranked in the Top 25. If we’re going to be a mediocre team, fine, but the Athletics Department had damn well be better paying for everything (scholarships, equipment, facilities, utilities) with ticket sales and not a dollar from the taxpayer.
