Texas Tech coach fired before MSU bowl game
Tweet
Texas Tech will play MSU in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Saturday without head coach Mike Leach, who was fired Wednesday amid allegations that he mistreated a wide receiver with a concussion, the Associated Press reported.
Earlier this week, Texas Tech officials suspended Leach for the bowl game pending an investigation into claims by wide receiver Adam James that Leach confined him to a small, dark room twice after he was diagnosed with a concussion. The AP reported James’ account of the alleged mistreatment.
Following the suspension, Leach filed a restraining order that would
permit him to coach in the bowl game, the AP reported.
But prior to a court hearing Wednesday regarding the restraining order, Leach’s lawyer was given a letter from the university that
said Leach was “terminated with cause effective immediately,” the AP reported.
Leach’s firing is yet another storyline for the Alamo Bowl. The Spartans will be without 14 players who were either suspended for the game or dismissed from the team following a fight last month at Rather Hall.
The Spartans and Red Raiders play at 9 p.m. Saturday.

So much more behind closed doors was happening. This was just the “icing on the cake.”
His actions were not appropriate and the school knew they had more to think of then just a “coach”..There are many
great coaches that can and will possibly fill his shoes. The players are what is important here. They are the ones out busting
their bodies up and giving it all they have. The coaches aren’t out there. They give the coaching, the plays, etc…but those players deserve respect! Good going TT.

CAREN, Your comment about Adam being a spoiled brat is ridiculous. Are you aware that a concussion is a brain related injury? Penalizing a player is for suffering a concussion is totaly insane! Bravo to Texas Tech for firing that idiot of a coach.

The people who think Adam james is in the right here are the same people who went to school after corporal punishment was removed from schools. Adam James was the biggest cancer you can have in any organization, sports or otherwise. Mike Leach was fired over Money and thats it. Believe the spin ESPN has put on this and keep going through life with blinders on.
