Enos tabbed as next CMU head coach

MSU running backs coach Dan Enos has been named the next head coach at Central Michigan, according to a Central Michigan press release.
A press conference to announce the hiring is scheduled for 3 p.m. today in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. and will be streamed live on cmuchippewas.com
Enos has served as the running backs coach under Mark Dantonio for the past three seasons.
Aside from their running backs coach, the Spartans also lose one of the top recruiters in the Big Ten. Enos helped land prized recruits and make the 2009 recruiting class one of the best in the Big Ten. The class included freshmen running backs Edwin Baker and freshman tight end Dion Sims.
For the 2010 recruiting class, Enos had a hand in the recruitment of seven of MSU’s 17 verbal commitments, including Detroit Southeastern’s William Gholston, a four-star defensive end, according to recruiting Web site Rivals.com
Despite finishing in the AP top 25, Central Michigan was in search for a head coach after former coach Butch Jones left for Cincinnati in December.
Enos was a quarterback at MSU from 1987-90, winning back-to-back bowl games for the Spartans.
He was formerly the quarterbacks coach at MSU in 2006, and prior to that he was the quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati under Dantonio from 2004-05.

This is disappointing news, although Dan is deserving of this. He is one of the more productive members of MD’s coaching staff. It’s too bad the announcement wasn’t related to our defensive coordinator.

Don’t know, but was he responsible for recruiting all the players involved in the “incident”? If so, glad we’re looking for a new recruiter…
