Report: MSU student arrested for fake IDs
An MSU student and two University of Michigan students were arrested Wednesday after a package shipped from Canada containing fake IDs was intercepted by immigration agents, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
MSU student Zachary Firestone and U-M students Barak Leibovitz and Samuel Hamburger were arrested after FedEx intercepted the package, which contained 48 fake ID cards, the AP said.
Firestone was arrested when he drove from East Lansing allegedly to pick up 27 of the 48 cards.
The three men have been charged in federal court, the report said.

These guys aren’t having a good day are they? Well one thing isn’t fake, their arrest, ouch, that has got to hurt. I bet they wish they could do things all over again. I wonder what type of charges will be brought against them. I am sure that this not only messes with their class schedule, but also with their life. No fun!

I know this kid and his family personally. What a terrible choice he has made, and now they must all suffer the consequences. Very sad and unfortunate. Such a smart kid making a stupid decision.
What a bummer

What a true statement Me said “they must all suffer the consequences. Very sad and unfortunate.” WHAT WE DO DOESN’T JUST EFFECT US, IT EFFECTS THOSE WE LOVE…I KNOW THAT FIRST HAND. I HAVE A FRIEND I CAN THANK FOR KEEPING ME ON THE RIGHT TRACK. A FRIEND WHO HELPED TO KEEP ME FROM MAKING A VITAL MISTAKE MYSELF…WISE UP TO THE FACT, THAT WHAT YOU DO IN LIFE, DOESN’T JUST EFFECT YOU, IT EFFECTS EVERYONE WHO LOVES YOU. THEN YOU WILL HAVE LESS REGRETS IN LIFE. We can always learn what ‘NOT TO DO’ by watching other’s bad choices and mistakes. By the grace of God their go I. I plan to keep these young men & their families in my prayers. It is what I feel called to do, feel free to do the same.

I know and love two of these boys. They are wonderful, decent human beings. They are your children and mine. One of them is not even involved; the other made stupid choices. I pray for leniency and understanding from the authorities and the court.

Wow. I always felt that “never trust illegal contraband to 3RD PARTY SHIPPERS” was a golden rule of cross-border smuggling. For just a fraction of what they’ll now pay time and money in court, they could have just driven to Toronto or Windsor or wherever the hell in Canada they got those made. Dumbasses.

The worst part about this is that these guys will now be subjected to being lumped in with terrorists and identity thieves. No doubt they were only meant to access booze, but are going to have to fight some rude charges. I hope there are no mandatory minimums dealing with false government documents and international production, shit could get ugly. Also, if those 48 fakes were more than just blanks and had images of the people who intended to use them, that could suck for them. Well, except for the 27 presumably Michigan students, they can all go to prison for all I care. Go State, Boo Blue scUM.

I prayed for these young men and their families last night. Most likely they were making these ID’s in order to get into the bars or to get booze. Not sure? However, with what we have been through simce 911, every American is scrutinized that much closer. I hope that if this is all that it was, that these kids don’t have to suffer a great penalty such as terroism.

The drinking age should just be lowered so college students don’t have to resort to fake ids.
BOOM. solution.
Still praying for...
