The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Ingham County, Sunday.
The watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon.
The East Lansing area is expected to get six to eight inches of snow accumulation. The snow is expected to become heavier Tuesday evening and continue through Tuesday night.
Included in the warning is hazardous drifting snow. North winds are expected to reach 15 to 25 mph.
