Male student reports assault Sunday
A 27-year-old male MSU student said he was assaulted Sunday in Owen Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The student said a 21-year-old male student, whom he knew, punched him with a closed fist on the left side of his face at about 3 a.m. Sunday. A witness and the suspect both claim the suspect did not hit the victim.
The victim was upset about the noise the suspect was making the previous Friday and confronted the suspect about it on Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The victim, suspect and the witness all had gone out to the bar together before the altercation, McGlothian-Taylor said.

Not that it’s his fault he was assaulted, BUT – if you’re gonna tell someone they’re being too loud, don’t do it at 3 am after you have been out at the bar together all night.

Good point Jason B. But take a look at the Police Brief again. It says that he confronted the suspect on Sunday the incident happened Fri. night. You need your morning cup of coffee or tea. I know that feeling all to well!! Just to make you chuckle, one time before I had my morning cup of coffee, I spelt thief, as theaf, I immediately realized my mistake, but boy did it make me blush and boy did I get noticed. I will never forget it, it was something that changed my life, the mispelling of a word, hahaha! I needed that time. I am better for what I learned from that time of mispelling and my overall grammar has since improved. Have a great day Jason B. and thanks for all of the good advice that you share here!

Wow great insight Crissy… Too bad it has nothing to do with anything on this page. I would like to know how the altercation started and why the “victim” confronted the alleged assailant two days later. Also why is there no mention of charges being pressed? If the victim was pressing charges I’m sure he would be smart enough not to talk about it to a newspaper before it has been brought to trial. So reporter, what happened? It sounds like the “victim” was probably looking to start trouble in the first place. He got hit and then reports it to the paper? Sounds like he was probably out partying and started crap with someone who he should not have.
