Laptop stolen from Rather Hall room

A 19-year-old female MSU student reported her laptop stolen from her dorm room after she left her door unlocked, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student said she left her room in Rather Hall unlocked between Saturday and Sunday when the laptop was stolen from her desk. There was no sign of forced entry, McGlothian-Taylor said.

There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

I am beginning to think that Jason B is responsible for all of these thefts reported in the police briefs just so he can remind students to lock your door! Just kidding…

At this point, I feel the need to cue you guys in on something: There are people who wake up early everyday, catch the # 1 Bus from downtown Lansing to East Lansing with 1 thing on their minds: taking your valuables. In many cases, this is the only way they make a living.
Students have this false sense of security on-campus. Lansing compared to East Lansing is like night & day.

Yes, thank you Carson O. Gin for your thoughtful words of advice. That is jsut how these thieves become so good at their trade. They know where to go ( the dorms, the library, anywhere on campus). Simply because students DO have a False Sense of Security on-campus, just as you said. VERY GOOD POINT! Thanks for sharing!! ;D

l2elevant anecdote: In the past, scandalous people have
pulled fire alarms with the assumption that you will leave without locking your door.
