MSU diver to compete at Nationals in Texas

By Jeremy Warnemuende Originally Published: 08/08/10 8:31pm 1 comment

MSU junior diver Sarah Clay has qualified to compete in the AT&T National Diving Championships from Tuesday until Sunday in College Station, Texas.

Clay advanced to the national competition by posting a score of 226.7 at the USA Diving National Preliminary from July 9-11 in Minneapolis, good enough for sixth place. The top five divers at the preliminaries who had not already qualified for Nationals moved on to compete in College Station.

As a freshman for the Spartans last season, Clay placed first at the TYR Invitational, and her eighth-place finish in the one-meter board at the Big Ten Championships was the best finish for an MSU diver.
