Volleyball to host Michigan at Breslin Center

The MSU volleyball team added another match to be played at Breslin Center, closing out its home season with a rivalry match against Michigan on Nov. 24. In addition to this match against the Wolverines, the Spartans will also host Minnesota and Iowa at Breslin Center on Sept. 24 and 25, respectively, for their Big Ten debut.

This is the third straight season that MSU will play the Wolverines at Breslin Center instead of its usual home court at Jenison Fieldhouse. The Spartans were ranked No. 6 in the 2010 Big Ten Preseason Poll with the Wolverines barely ahead of them at No. 5.

In 2008, when MSU hosted U-M at Breslin Center, the team overpowered the Wolverines, winning 3-1 in front of a MSU volleyball record-breaking crowd of 5,335.

When MSU and U-M met last season at Breslin Center, the Spartans fell 3-0. This was the Spartans’ first loss at the arena, as they have a 4-1 all-time record there.
