Women's soccer loses at Wisconsin-Milwaukee

By Anthony Odoardi Originally Published: 09/06/10 8:47pm Modified: 09/06/10 8:48pm No comments

The MSU women’s soccer team’s Friday night win against Eastern Michigan became a distant memory Sunday when the Spartans lost to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 3-2.

Although the Panthers (2-2-1) eased through the Spartans’ defense and took a 3-0 lead into halftime, the Spartans (3-2) fought back with goals from junior forward Laura Heyboer (47th minute) and sophomore forward Olivia Stander (53rd minute). The team, however, was unable to score what would’ve been the game-tying goal.

The game puts Stander and Heyboer tied atop of the team leaders in goals with three apiece.
