Police Brief 03/14/11

Student allegedly assaults paramedic

March 13, 2011

A 40-year-old man allegedly was assaulted by a 19-year-old male student at 1:10 a.m. March 4 in Holden Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The man was a paramedic who was attempting to assist the student into an ambulance so he could be taken to Sparrow Hospital, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student had fallen and struck his head and a group of MSU police officers and paramedics responded. The student refused to be transported and was being combative in his attempts to break away.

Eventually the paramedics were able to get the student into the ambulance and transport him to the hospital.

Alcohol was involved in the incident.
