Lack of attention nixes Occupy MSU

The lawn surrounding the rock on Farm Lane was barren of protesters Thursday after an event meant to bring the Occupy Wall Street movement to MSU’s campus fell through.
Occupy MSU, a group based off of the national movement Occupy Wall Street, was canceled because of lack of attention, group organizer and psychology junior Shay Berman said via Twitter.
Occupy Wall Street is a grass roots movement with supporters voicing concerns about the wealth gap between upper and lower classes.
Berman said he and other MSU supporters plan to join the Occupy Lansing protest instead, which is scheduled to be held 10 a.m. Oct. 15.
