Obama to vist Michigan on Friday

January 23, 2012

President Barack Obama will speak at the University of Michigan on Friday, just three days after the president delivers his State of the Union Address, a U-M spokeswoman confirmed Monday.

The Detroit Free Press confirmed with White House officials the president plans to travel to Michigan Thursday night, and will speak on campus the next day.

Obama last visited the state in October 2011, where he delivered a speech with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak announcing a new automotive trade agreement between the U.S. and South Korea and defending the 2009 Detroit automaker bailout.
