Muskegon man arrested after foot chase through university building

February 2, 2012

A 21-year-old Muskegon, Mich. man was arrested this morning after he led police on a foot chase through the Communication Arts and Sciences Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The man — who is not an MSU student — was the passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over during a traffic stop at about 10:40 a.m. Thursday near the Communication Arts and Sciences Building, McGlothian-Taylor said.

He then fled the car and led police on a chase to the Natural Resources Building, where he was arrested inside.

He was ticketed for failure to obey and currently is being held at the Ingham County Jail.

McGlothian-Taylor said the man had nine warrants out for his arrest, including three for felony charges — one for domestic assault and two other charges for aggravated assault against a police officer. None of the charges were in Ingham County.

No one was injured in the chase.
