'Green' inventions go too far with conservation efforts
Going green is something that can be found all over campus. While recycling might be a big inconvenience for some, these strange, new “green” inventions take conservation to a whole new level.
Some of these inventions seem useful, like the pencil printer. Being able to use pencil stubs and getting rid of the harsh cost of ink is a realistic purchase. However, many of these other green inventions seem to be functioning just because they can.
While it might work, many people would have no interest in purchasing this machine that turns regular office paper into rolls of toilet paper, due to bulky design or the fact that the product is just way too odd. Having water drain from a fishbowl with a live fish to display water consumption is a bit harsh. One of the inventions even takes afterlife to a green perspective with a biodegradable coffin.
These green products are interesting and useful, but some of them don’t appeal to the masses. Despite these wacky ways to go green, these inventions are a slight wake-up call that we don’t need to have fancy machines to conserve.
