Hey! Laura Leebove, features editor here. Welcome to The State News entertainment blog.
The features desk will be updating this at least a few times a week with our thoughts on the latest music, movies, celeb gossip and general pop culture.
A little bit about myself: I’m a journalism junior starting my fifth semester at The State News. I’ve been a copy editor/designer and an entertainment reporter, and I spent my summer in Chicago writing for a music magazine.
Lately I’ve been listening a lot to LCD Soundsystem and the new albums from Rilo Kiley and Stars, but my all-time favorites are Ani DiFranco, Wilco and Belle & Sebastian. I’m not a huge movie person (and get made fun of for it from a few of my friends), and I could care less about Paris Hilton.
I hope this blog will be not only a place for the features reporters to say what’s on their minds, but also for you, the readers, to let us know what you think. So check it often and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
