Famous people like to put their names on stuff.

You know, like creating perfume (everyone knows you’re not famous if you don’t have a signature scent), clothing lines (being a designer is in the celebrity contract) or medical scrubs.

Yeah. Medical scrubs.

I’m not saying these people shouldn’t put out products the masses enjoy, since I don’t feel like being smote by America, but Katherine Heigl’s venture into creating medical scrubs actually makes me think there’s still hope for celebrity-induced merchandise.

Heigl is teaming up with Peaches Uniforms to create the Katherine Heigl Collection, which will “bring a new level of style and sophistication to medical professionals who value looking good as much as they value their life’s work,” according to the Peaches Uniforms Web site.

Just because she’s not a real doctor doesn’t mean she can’t represent her people. I’m thinking about becoming a nurse just so I can get a snazzy leopard-print scrub.

Maybe it’ll be a new fashion statement? All the celebs dressed to the nines with a Katherine Heigl scrub and a matching pair of Manolo Blahniks.

Anything is possible, kids.
