Experience subway crushes without living in New York
I only read Craigslist.com for one thing: the missed connections.
I don’t usually read the ones in the Lansing area, but rather random cities throughout the world. It’s shockingly adorable to see how much people can be enamored by a chance encounter (think the film “Serendipity”). While I’ve never had one posted about me, and I definitely haven’t posted one about anyone else, I’m still a bit curious as to if the “missed connections” drop the “missed” modifier at all.
Well, for New Yorkers who don’t drive or bike across town, the new Web site www.subwaycrush.com acts as a whole spot for missed connections of the underground. Except the site is bigger, more colorful and even more addicting. Divided into sections of which subway line the crush was spotted on, it’s a blast to read about the guy who missed the “devastating redhead” or the girl “with the sniffles.”
Sometimes, the stories are even a bit poetic – one tale, “Let’s make out on the J Train,” is a whole poem about wanting to get it on underground. And others are a bit more harsh. One woman asks what was wrong with the rude guy next to her, asking “Are you from Rhode Island or something?”
Even if I don’t live in the Big Apple, there’s still something alluring about the cute crushes of those who do.
