Upcoming release of 'Grand Theft Auto 4' criticized for killing
According to the hype of some members of the media, the world will be ending in less than a week.
'The Real World' has run its course
It’s time to empty the fishbowl.
Despite forgetting about MTV’s “The Real World” about three years and many “cast members” ago, I was recently alerted to the fact that its 20th season is airing.
“The Real World: Hollywood” is the story of seven strangers picked to live in a house and do all the raunchy, sexually charged things their predecessors have already done (or contracted) and none of the socially aware, genuinely interesting things the show’s pioneers did.
The format of the now longest-running MTV program is getting tired. They are not only regurgitating story lines, they are repeating locations. What happened to the show’s sister project, Road Rules? You could never run out of paths for that show.
It’s just sad.
A recent reunion show of all 20 seasons was equally disappointing. The program featured mock awards such as “Best fight” and “Best phone call” in-between flash appearances of past cast members. Please, MTV, viewers want to see where these people are now! We watched week after week and became connected to these people, we want to know what they are up to.
Get wise, MTV. It’s time to pull the plug on “The Real World.” Just don’t replace it with “America’s Next Top Model” reruns, thank you.

Bunim-Murray/MTV are already casting for the next Real World as speculated at the Real World News Blow to be located in Washington DC.
Also cast members are already being contacted to be in the next Challenge.

I think the challenges kind of replaced Road Rules. I know they did a RR one or two years ago, but I don’t think it was that big a hit. Personally, I just ignore Real World.

I heard they were supposed to have a Real World: Detroit…but film it in Royal Oak.

The “Real World”, like most shows aired on MTV, is aimed at teenagers who weren’t even born yet when Puck was pissing people off in San Francisco.
Why wouldn’t they just keep repeating the same thing over and over? Sure, you might get tired of it and stop watching, but there’s a whole new crop of tweens about to discover this crap all over again.
