Morgan wraps up Summer League play
Former MSU forward Raymar Morgan wrapped up play with the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League on Saturday.
The Wizards finished the summer league with a 4-1 record but Morgan only saw playing time in three games.
In his first professional game, the Canton, Ohio, native played 29 minutes against Golden State on July 11 while scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds.
But Morgan only played 17 combined minutes in his next two games, not scoring any points but pulling down seven total rebounds.
After going undrafted June 24, Morgan signed a summer league deal with the Wizards. His performance in the summer league likely means he won’t be playing for an NBA team this fall, but there seem to always be opportunities overseas if Morgan decides to continue to play basketball.
Morgan averaged 11.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in four years at MSU. He played in two Final Fours and left MSU as one of five players in school history to score more than 1,500 points and grab more than 700 rebounds.
