Long journey to Orlando was worth it
It’s snowing in East Lansing, but in Florida it’s a warm and breezy 74 degree day under the warm sun.
That’s nice and all but driving here was the worst part of all partly because I vouched to do the night shift of the drive.
Or in other words: the final leg.
I finished the last 450 miles of the 1,250 mile drive from East Lansing to our hotel in Orlando. It was about midnight when photo, Nichole Hoerner and I, were forced to migrate to the front seats after our long naps to finish the rest of the journey. The worst part of the drive were the songs that kept repeating on the radio. I now have a new fond disgust for Nickelback’s debut song “Gotta Be Somebody.”
We both stayed up the whole time while the writers, Jacob and Cash, were sleeping in the backseat. Little did we know how much of a toll it would put on us for the day forthcoming. Yesterday was the longest day of my life because of the drive and the mounds of work that was to come.
Regardless of how long that drive took and how many times I heard the same songs on the radio it was all worth it when we arrived at our hotel in desperate need of a showers and a comfortable bed.
Unfortunately by the time we got into our room it was about 10 a.m. on Dec. 30th and we had a player press meeting to attend at 2 p.m. which only gave us roughly three hours to regain our sanity. So far it’s been worth it, but I guess the main deciding factor will be the result of tomorrow’s bowl game.
As a last note – the last place I want to be in after this trip is in a Chevrolet HHR.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people would be willing to go through a long drive and crappy songs to be where you are.
Hold on

I’d agree with the above comment… except that having to listen to Nickelback is pretty harsh. I don’t know if I’d endure that to see anyone play.
