Sophomore quarterback Kirk Cousins said his ankle was “90-something” percent at practice Tuesday and he expects to be at full strength for Saturday’s game against Iowa (7:05 p.m., Big Ten Network).

“Every day, it gets a little bit better,” Cousins said. “(Last) Saturday, I didn’t feel like I was fully mobile running around and I think that was reflected a little bit in some of the missed throws early in the game, but it’s getting better every day.”

On the first drive of the game against Northwestern, Cousins was stopped on a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-goal from inside the one-yard line. The injury played a minor role in Cousins’ inability to get in.

“It didn’t help having an ankle that wasn’t quite there,” he said. “I probably could’ve pushed a little bit better, but again, I need to get in. Whether I have a bad ankle or not, I need to get in there and I didn’t do it. But it probably would’ve been a little bit better.”
