Jones: No decision on NFL draft … yet
Following Saturday’s 42-14 loss to Penn State, junior linebacker Greg Jones said he hasn’t given any thought to possibly forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.
“If anything, I’m going to talk to my parents about it, but for right now I’m just getting ready for the bowl game,” Jones said.
Jones, one of four team captains, has led the team in tackles in each of his three seasons in East Lansing. His freshman year, he picked up 78. He improved that to 127 last season and that number has jumped to 141 with one game to play after his 15 tackles against Penn State.
Jones was the Big Ten Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and is a leading candidate for the postseason award, which will be announced Monday.
“I don’t know what’s left and, right now, I just want to get ready for the bowl game,” Jones reiterated. “That’s all I got on my mind.”
