Secondary switch
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio pulled a switch last Saturday, starting sophomore Trenton Robinson and senior Kendell Davis-Clark at safety ahead of junior Marcus Hyde and senior Danny Fortener.
“I thought (Robinson and Davis-Clark) played well,” Dantonio said. “We were in a lot of man-coverage things and they got on guys and they did a nice job. Coverage was good.”
Robinson and Davis-Clark were again listed as the starters on this week’s depth chart but Dantonio said that could possibly change.
“Those guys are pretty interchangeable, I feel, based on how they play,” Dantonio said. “Based on what personnel group we’re playing and how they practice this week, we’ll see how it all shakes out. All four of those guys have started for us. All four of those guys have played well for us in the past. In some cases we don’t make our final depth chart really until Thursday.”
