Lowell offensive lineman Connor Kruse verbally committed to the MSU football program Monday, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

Kruse, a two-star lineman according to the recruiting Web site Rivals.com, chose MSU over U-M, Purdue and several Mid-American Conference schools.

Kruse measures at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds and helped lead Lowell High School to the Division 2 state championship this winter.

He is MSU’s 21st verbal commitment in the 2010 recruiting class.

Kruse’s commitment is verbal and not binding until he signs a national letter of intent.

National Signing Day is Wednesday
