Fantasy football, week 7

By: Cash Kruth Posted: 10/16/08 6:25pm

Just a quick note on my own behalf: After starting 0-3 in my league with my friends back home I am now on a three-game tear and have evened my record at 3-3. Now I just have to keep it up.

Also, in The State News league I am 4-2 and in second place in the honorable “Hondo Carpenter Division.” (In case you were wondering, the “Tim Staudt Division” is the other one.)

Anyway, on to this week’s picks:

Two to start:
Dominic Rhodes — Joseph Addai is out, and although he’s playing Green Bay, Rhodes should still put up well above-average numbers as the featured guy.

Matt Schaub — Hey, facts are facts. He’s playing the Lions.

Two to sit:
Trent Edwards — ESPN.com projects him to have a great game. I don’t buy it. Sure, the Chargers have struggled, but they finally looked like an NFL defense Monday night against New England.

Roy Williams — I know it sounds crazy, but wait on this. This whole deal is going to be a wait-and-see scenario to find out how Williams gels with Terrell Owens. Unfortunately, thanks to Tony Romo’s injured pinky finger, it could be a long wait.

Player of the week:
Marion Barber — Because of Romo’s injury, the chances are good that the Cowboys will go to the ground more often. Already one of the premier backs in NFL, Barber will put up even better numbers.
