Glavine should think twice about filing grievance
Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine probably isn’t looking for sympathy, but he sure is going to get a lot.
Fantasy football, week 12
No in-depth opening this week, let’s get straight to my picks:
Two to start
Jeff Garcia – I really didn’t want to pick on the Detroit Lions this week, but then I looked at Garcia and noticed he was owned in less than 62 percent of leagues. He’s by no means a stud quarterback but, in all honesty, you don’t have to be when you play the Honolulu Blue.
Lee Evans – Has any young wide receiver caused more puzzled looks for fantasy owners throughout the years? Evans has all the ability in the world, but … well, I don’t know, because I’ve fallen victim to his potential in the past as well. This week the Bills get Kansas City, giving Evans’ owners another opportunity to hope for big things.
Two to sit
Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco – Just the fact that we’re talking about these two rookie quarterbacks is amazing and there’s no denying they have each had a tremendous first season in the NFL. Still, Ryan faces Carolina and Flacco goes up against Philly, so if you have any other option (Garcia, cough, cough) I’d go for it.
Minnesota D/ST – This is a crazy defense. Some weeks they dominate, while mostly they struggle. Even though they’re going against a disappointing Jacksonville team this week, I still like the two-headed monster of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.
