The MSU women’s basketball team defeated Bowling Green, 72-62, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday in Louisville, Ky. The Spartans advance to the second round to play No. 4-seed Kentucky at 7:21 p.m. Monday.

The MSU men’s basketball team defeated New Mexico State, 70-67, Friday evening in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans advance to the second round to play Maryland at 2:40 p.m. Sunday in Spokane, Wash.

The MSU men’s basketball team dropped its opener of the Big Ten Tournament against Minnesota on Friday, 72-67, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Spartans haven’t won the Big Ten Tournament since 2000.
