    A housing development in East Lansing might see an increase in buyers after a sluggish summer city officials said. The Avondale Square project located on the 600 block of Virginia Avenue and aimed at permanent residents is expected to have more buyers in the coming months said Lori Mullins East Lansing Community and Economic Development administrator.

    An MSU team is following gastric bypass surgery patients with high expectations that the surgery has positive effects on the patients immune systems.I think well see a more positive effect of the surgery and I think the immune function is one of those MSU surgeon Pandu Yenumula said.Yenumula will work with Pam Fraker a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Lansings Sparrow Hospital to research the effects the surgery has on the immune system.Immune system cells called neutrophils will be studied in patients to give researchers some idea of how well the immune system is performing after surgery Fraker said.Were talking about the cells that defend against disease and infection and also do a lot of wound healing and tissue repair after the surgery she said.

    The ANGEL system has been a bit devilish this summer following an upgrade from version 7.2 to the new version 7.4 in mid-May.Problems with the upgrade were reported soon after the change said David Gift vice provost for libraries computing and technology.It was quite immediate he said.

    At The Gallery in Snyder-Phillips Hall almost everything had to be handed to Munaz Muntasir by a cafeteria employee.They give you forks with a piece of napkin and salt and pepper packs said Muntasir a biochemistry and molecular biology freshman. I had to ask for a bowl. But I could get my own frozen yogurt.
