Faculty Council addresses state budget cuts

The budget crunch music therapy program and academic integrity had the attention of MSUs Faculty Council at the bodys Tuesday meeting. MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon said the university needs to do what is right not only for today but for tomorrow in terms of the budget and future cuts. It is my personal view that everything we do is valuable almost every thing we do is better than someone else and a case can be made for almost anything Simon said. -
MSU satellite programs may face $32M cut

All state universities lost funding in Michigans recommended 2010 budget but MSU took a harder hit than others with severe cuts to its satellite programs. -

MSU would see a 9 million or 3 percent cut in state funding under Gov. Jennifer Granholms budget released Thursday which could be a significant financial blow to the university as Granholm urges higher education institutions to freeze tuition. -
Board to hold final meeting of fall semester

The MSU Board of Trustees will convene for the last time this semester at 930 a.m. today in the Administration Building. The meeting will be the last for Trustees Scott Romney and Dorothy Gonzales whose terms expire Jan. 1. -
Company facing E. coli suit denies involvement

Aunt Mid8217s Produce Co. continues to deny claims that its lettuce was the source of an E. coli outbreak that sickened nine MSU students and 25 other Michigan residents. The company has based its claims on the Michigan Department of Agriculture8217s findings that stated there was no E. coli bacteria found in Aunt Mid8217s iceberg lettuce or its packing facilities. -
Mich. drops loan program; may not affect MSU students
