Students supporting Palestinians said they plan to continue fighting, protesting and calling state representatives and urging them to a ceasefire.
In sworn affidavits, all eight MSU trustees say while they did meet “informally” in April to discuss releasing the documents relating to the university’s handling of disgraced ex-MSU doctor Larry Nassar, there were no votes or formal actions taken at the closed-door meeting.
Berkey Hall will reopen for classes in the spring 2024 semester, though classrooms directly affected by the Feb. 13 shooting will stay closed for now. With students currently choosing classes for next semester, they are faced with the decision of whether to select classes in Berkey.

Michigan State University has expanded the scope of an outside investigation at the Board of Trustees' request, now asking lawyers to probe the source of a recent State News story reporting on the privileged document that spurred the investigation in the first place.

Despite MSU's commitment that active violent intruder training would become mandatory following the Feb. 13 shooting, the training has yet to be finished and its completion will be made optional. The choice not to require the training was influenced by feedback from the community concerned with the emotional impact the training could have on traumatized individuals.
The Council of Racial and Ethnic Students and the Council of Progressive Students voted ‘no confidence’ in the Board of Trustees, calling for the board to cease internal conflict and instead release the Nassar documents.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and University Drive early Sunday morning. The victim was not affiliated with MSU, a university spokesperson said.
"The lack of attention given by MSU officials has led to isolation, mental distress and anxiety amongst Black and Brown students who feel as though they don’t matter, nor are valued in a space that should be safe for them," the statement said.
"The loss of life around the world is deeply disturbing, (with) the impact on Palestinians, on Jews, on Arabs, on Israelis and on Muslims," Woodruff said. "We cannot … resolve the crisis of Gaza and the Middle East in this room. But I do believe we can and we must collaborate on support, on resources, education, dialogue and ultimately, the safety of our community."
The Associated Students of MSU voted no confidence in the MSU Board of Trustees following recent controversy and dysfunction among trustees. This bill, passed on Nov. 2, is ASMSU's second vote of no confidence in the board in just over a year.
“There’s no resources for my grieving process, even, because no one’s acknowledging we need to grieve,” Saba Saed, a Palestinian and vice president of the Arab Cultural Society, said.
MSU has announced a university policies website and a Policy Management Program that will allow for students, faculty and staff to see all university policies in one, organized location.

ASMSU’s bill 60-30 “advocates for ASMSU and MSU to address the ongoing Palestinian crisis and support Palestinian students and all impacted students.” It also advocates for MSU to organize and facilitate educational sessions on the issue.
"Faculty are the heart and soul of a university," chemistry professor Piotr Piecuch, who sits on the committee organizing the union, said. "We are the ones who make new discoveries, who create and disseminate knowledge … so we feel we should have a voice, and we feel that we don't have it now."
MSU’s Center for Engaged Student Learning is running a winter wear drive to collect outerwear donations for the Cristo Rey Community Center in Lansing. Students, faculty and staff can drop off all new and gently-used hats, scarves, gloves and other outerwear gear to suite 101 in the Student Services Building until Nov. 10.
