Inside the Kresge Art Center on MSU’s campus resides the art store, where students come and go to purchase equipment for their classes or projects. However, some students might be unaware of the artist behind the counter, ringing them up.

Groovy Donuts are baking one of a kind donuts at two, far out, rock 'n' roll themed locations. Andrew Gauthier and Monica Lucas, both Spartan alumni, opened their Williamston location in Sept. 2015 and their East Lansing, Lake Lansing Rd location in Sept. 2016. Their donuts are made from scratch every day.

Red Hot Chili Peppers played at Dooley’s in East Lansing in Nov. of 1987. Dooley’s closed in 1996 and sat where Harper’s Restaurant and Brew Pub currently resides. It had a host of musical acts throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s including U2 and The Ramones. Rick’s American Cafe hosted hundreds of concerts in the 1990s.

Elementary education sophomore Bethany Caswell and communication sophomore Sophie Lynskey were not able to experience welcome week, moving in the dorms with hallways full of people. Instead, they came to MSU at a time where campus had no signs, nearly empty and only Brody’s dining hall was open. No groups, no welcome and no freshman experience.
By snagging the win for best opera, MSU alumnus Brad Sayles secured the Houston Symphony their first Grammy award. Five years after its recording, “Berg: Wozzeck” is getting the recognition Sayles knew it deserved.
Monday evening the East Lansing Public Library held an event for members of the public. The community was invited to openly discuss their concerns about Richard Spencer’s impending visit to MSU.
An event to get to know democratic gubernatorial candidate of Michigan Shri Thanedar was hosted by MSU College Democrats on Jan. 29. It concluded with a Q&A session, during which members of the public asked Thanedar about his plans for the state if he would be elected.
A public discussion regarding Richard Spencer’s imminent visit to MSU will take place at the East Lansing Public Library on Feb. 5, at 6 p.m.

The NFL’s 2017-18 football season will draw to its conclusion Feb. 4., when millions of football fans tune in to watch Super Bowl 52. The championship game will see the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the New England Patriots at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis at 6:30 p.m.
