Police responded to domestic assault in Wilson hall

Police responded to a domestic assault in Wilson hall on Saturday, where a 19-year-old female student and a 22-year-old male non-student got into an altercation that involved kicking and hair-pulling on both ends, and a struggle for a phone being used to call for help.

Suspect in Cedar Street shooting arraigned

The man who police suspect murdered sophomore Dominique Nolff was arraigned Thursday in Grand Rapids. Marquay McCoy, 19, was arrested on Tuesday for cutting his tether while on parole. East Lansing police have named McCoy as a suspect in last month’s shooting on Cedar Street, which killed Nolff and injured another student.

BWL customers lose power Sunday

Lansing Board of Water and customers momentarily lost power Sunday. At 11:35 a.m., about 200 customers lost power, according to a statement from BWL communications director Stephen Serkaian. The outages extended west to Kensington Road, east to Abbott Road, north to Grand River Avenue and south to Michigan Avenue. The statement said an underground cable fault was to blame for the outages.
